Whole Places, Whole Society.

The 35th president of the United States, John F. Kennedy, was once quoted stating “Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.” Taking this way of thinking into consideration, Mississippi Heritage Trust, the Land Trust for the Mississippi Coastal Plain, and Mississippi Gulf Coast National Heritage Area, and TALLstudio Architecture have united to bring awareness and purpose of historic preservation to students across the state. The partnership, appropriately dubbed Whole Places, strives to highlight the path and importance of preservation by showcasing five places along the Gulf Coast: The Shaw Homestead in Poplarville, 12 Oaks and the Charnley-Norwood House in Ocean Springs, Phoenix Naval Stores in the Turkey Creek community, and Cedar Lake Island in Biloxi.
